StreamLabs Control Leak Detection
Stop water damage before it starts.
StreamLabs Control is a smart whole-home shutoff valve that watches your water 24/7, spots leaks as small as 0.1 GPM and closes the valve automatically, so a burst pipe never becomes a flooded house. Tradewinds stocks it and ships free to all 48 contiguous states.
Choose your StreamLabs Control size
Most homes have 3/4″ or 1″ main lines. Pick the connection that matches your pipe, or send us a photo of your setup and we'll confirm before you order.

How StreamLabs Control works
One valve on your main water line replaces guesswork with continuous, automatic protection.
Senses flow
An ultrasonic flow meter sends sound waves through your main line and measures flow in real time, down to 0.1 GPM. No moving parts in the sensor means no drift or clogging.
Learns your patterns
Smart Alerts study your household's normal water use. If flow looks wrong for the time of day, or runs continuously too long, the app flags it before it becomes a loss.
Shuts off automatically
When a leak or burst is confirmed, Control closes its stainless steel ball valve in about 15 seconds, stopping water at the source whether you're home or not.

Not ready for automatic shutoff? Start with the Monitor.
The StreamLabs Monitor straps onto your existing pipe with no cutting and no plumber. You get the same 24/7 leak alerts and usage insights in the StreamLabs app, without the motorized valve. Many homeowners start here and upgrade to Control later, since both work in the same app.

StreamLabs Control FAQ
Answers to the questions homeowners and plumbers ask before ordering.
Does StreamLabs Control need Wi-Fi to shut off water?
No. Automatic shutoff runs locally on the valve. If Wi-Fi drops, Control still detects the leak and closes the valve. You lose remote app control and alerts until the connection returns, but the protection stays on.
What is the smallest leak Control can detect?
Control detects flow down to 0.1 GPM, about a slow dripping faucet. A weekly DripDetect test also checks for pinhole leaks below that threshold by measuring pressure decay overnight.
How fast does Control shut off the water?
Once a leak condition is confirmed, Control closes its ball valve in roughly 15 seconds. You can tune slow-leak and major-leak thresholds and durations in the app for your household.
Do I need a plumber to install Control?
Yes in most cases. Control cuts into the main water line, so a licensed plumber should handle the install. SharkBite push-to-connect fittings make it faster on PEX, copper and CPVC, but the line still has to be opened and drained.
Does StreamLabs Control work with Alarm.com?
Yes. After you finish StreamLabs setup in the StreamLabs app, you can link the device in the Alarm.com Customer app under Add Device, then Water Valves and Meters. This is a cloud integration, not Z-Wave, so it works alongside your security system without a hub pairing.
Is there a subscription fee?
The core StreamLabs app plan is free and covers leak alerts and automatic shutoff. StreamLabs offers an optional paid StreamPlus plan for extras like SMS alerts and multiple locations. Control works fully without a subscription.
What pipe sizes does Control fit?
FNPT threaded connections cover 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″ and 2″ mains. SharkBite push-to-connect fittings cover 3/4″, 1″ and 1-1/4″ on PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT and HDPE.
Can StreamLabs Control handle a 2-inch pipe with high flow?
Control can connect to a 2″ line using adapter fittings, but the valve body itself is 1″, which caps flow around 50 GPM. If your property needs more than that on a 2″ main, the FloLogic 2″ system is built for it. We carry both, and our comparison page shows the flow differences side by side.
Will StreamLabs lower my homeowners insurance premium?
Many carriers recognize smart water shutoff systems. Chubb lists StreamLabs Control among its recommended IoT devices for water damage prevention. Discounts vary by carrier, policy and state, so confirm with your insurer before you buy.
